I was the DP for the interview that we did with Cassie. I had a lot of fun doing the interview and I really enjoyed using the 7D camera. Using the lens was really interesting and I definitely saw a difference between using the normal focus and using the zoomed in focus. That said, I still have a lot of practice to do with the new cameras. The focus was good, but it was not as crisp as I wanted it to be. There was also the obvious problem of the coloring. The coloring was set to an almost grey scale on the camera and we couldn't figure out how to change it. It wasn't as big of a deal as we all thought that it was going to be because we could color correct in post, but I still would like to improve on the color settings of the camera.

I had a lot of fun being interviewed. I always enjoy the process of being interviewed. I feel like this was not one of the better interviews that I have had though. The questions that were asked came from a website about good interview questions, not just off the cuff about my life. I think that it made the interview a little less genuine and more contrived. If I get interviewed again, I think that I would prefer to have the questions more about me and less general questions that could apply to anyone.

For my interview with Ethan, I started out by asking questions from a website that was supposed to have good interview questions and then, later on, asked more personal questions about him. After I finished the interview, and I watched it in Final Cut, I realized that I only really liked the questions that were focused on him. That is why the interview is so short. I didn't want to include the questions that I didn't like. Instead of just using photos in my interview, as I had done in the past, I went out and shot some B-Roll related to what he was saying. I liked this a lot, and I thought that it made the interview a lot more interesting. I couldn't get all of my B-Roll as video, so I had to use some photos. The photos are okay, but in the future, I think that I will add Ken Burns effect to the photos to make it more interesting. The color correction was also an interesting learning curve for me. Because the camera started out as grey, there was a lot of work to be done. It took me 2 class period to get it how I like it, but the experience was really valuable. I feel like I have a much better understanding of color correction now.
